Yukinori Kawae, Archaeologist/Egyptologist, joined the Giza Plateau Mapping Project (http://www.aeraweb.org/) led by Dr. Mark Lehner in 2004, and there he is an area supervisor of the excavations of the "Pyramid Town". In addition to his excavation works, he is a laser scanning director of Ancient Egypt Research Associates Inc. The U.S.-Japan-Egypt joint laser scanning team successfully archived 3D data of the tomb of Khentkawes [I] at Giza, the Cemetery of Pyramid Builders, and Djoser's Step Pyramid, the oldest pyramid in Egypt. He received his Ph.D. from Nagoya University in 2012. His dissertation subject is "3D data of the tomb of Khentkawes [I] and its interpretation".
